Shopbop Sale: Recent Try On’s
We’re going on day 3 of the Shopbop sale. How is everyone’s wallets? Score anything good, yet? Since I got an early start to my shopping, I’m sharing my try on’s from the sale. Shh, don’t tell anyone, I have another order on it’s way… if I have time, I’ll share the new stuff on Instagram Stories. I’m also giving you the rundown on some older pieces that are part of the sale. It’s one thing to see me style something on the blog, but to see how it actually fits is always helpful when making purchases.
Blank Denim vegan leather pants (xs) – I bought these last fall but I haven’t really discussed them in detail on the blog. They’re pretty awesome. I’ve had faux leather leggings in the past, but never pants, and I’m impressed. They’re supposed to be cropped, but they hit me right at the ankle. It says they’re mid rise, but I would say they’re more high-rise, which I happen to love. Good quality and super comfortable. They run a bit snug in the waist, so I would recommend sizing up.
J.O.A. flare sleeve blouse (xs) – Couldn’t pass up a striped bell sleeve top. I wasn’t sure the sleeves would fit, but they’re actually perfect. The top doesn’t drape as nice as I would like, but it fits pretty TTS. Love the button detail on the back as well.
T By Alexander Wang white tee (xs) – I recently ordered a bunch of white tees for an upcoming post and this one was one of my favorites. It fits extremely well and the v-neck does not sit too low (which is huge for me). It does run fairly sheer, although I’m wearing a nude bra under and it doesn’t seem like you can see it. The one thing I didn’t love about this tee, the rolled sleeves. Reminds of a muscle tee or something…?
Soludos espadrilles nude (5) – These espadrilles are absolutely gorgeous in person. I love the soft leather and braided jute sidewall. I get many questions on how comfortable Soludos espadrilles are and let me say, they’re ridiculously comfy after you wear them in. They’re not terrible right out of box, but worn in leather can’t be beat. They do stretch out over time as well, so I would go with your normal size. You can see a close up shot here.
BB Dakota black drape front jacket (xs) – I’ve had this jacket for a good 4-5 years, but it always gets lost in my closet. Every time it reappears, I remember how much I love it. It fits really well (pretty petite-friendly) and drapes nicely. It’s extremely lightweight, so think of it as a layer and not really as a jacket. The faux leather is soft and the pockets are functional and convenient. Can’t wait to pull this out once the weather warms up and pair it with cropped flare jeans, skinny jeans, and denim cut offs. This jacket comes in 5 colors. See me style it here.
BB Dakota blush drape front jacket (xs) – Since I loved the black version so much, I recently ordered the blush suede version. Fits exactly the same, but drapes even nicer (the suede is less stiff). The color is a muted blush and will be perfect for spring. This jacket also comes in black and tan.
Rag & Bone distressed skinny jeans (24) – I wear these all the time, but I thought I’d give you some detailed shots of the jeans. 2 things you need to know about these. The rips sit perfectly on your knees (for us short girls out there) and they’re incredibly comfortable (especially after wearing them a ton). Hands down my favorite jeans of all time. They run long, so I did end up cutting the bottom hem. They also ran snug in the beginning, but over time, they’ve stretched out – but in the best possible way. Best black jeans, ever!
English Factory striped top (xs) – I had high hopes for this top, stripes and pleats, hello yes. When it arrived, I fell in love. The stripes are bold and I love the contrast between the black, white, and blue. Definitely a fun, bold top perfect for spring. The only issue, it runs super big. I would recommend sizing down. I’m debating whether to keep it or not… it’s just so adorable, though.
Rag & Bone trousers (00) – These are my favorite trousers of all time, which is why I splurged. Super flattering and great quality. They’re high-waisted and suck you in in all the right spots. I had them taken up to hit right at my ankles. If you’re looking for quality black pants, I couldn’t recommend these more.
T by Alexander Wang striped short sleeve tee (xs) – I loved this tee in the long sleeve version so much, I snagged the short sleeve. It runs pretty boxy and short. I thought I would have issues tucking it into my jeans, but it actually drapes nicely. The linen is super soft and comfy… only downfall, it’s dry clean only (ugh!).
J Brand Cropped flare jeans (24) – These are nearly sold out, but I wear them every other day, so I figure, you should know about them. They’re incredibly comfortable and flattering and not to mention the perfect dark wash. They honestly go with everything. If you’re looking for a go-with-everything pair of jeans, I would recommend these or something similar (these are nearly identical). BTW, I did end up needing to cut the bottom hem to make them work for my short legs.
Madewell tote – I wore the crap out of this tote last year. It’s a big one, but it fits everything. I would say it’s a great work tote or even baby bag. Throw in an organizer and you’re good to go. I love the simple shape and timeless classic leather color.
Style Mafia ruffle sweatshirt (s) – This sweatshirt is absolutely adorable. I love the cold shoulder ruffle details. Since the smallest size was a small, I had a feeling it would run big. But, I think the sleeves are crazy long (even long for Mike lol). Sadly, this has sold out, but there’s a similar sweater on sale here. Recently wore it on Instagram here.
Levis distressed straight jeans (24) – This was a pair of jeans I ordered when I looking for the perfect high-waisted straight jeans. The first thing I noticed was the distressing. The rips land right on my knees and are perfectly worn in. To me, the jeans look way different in-person than they do online – for the better. The waist runs snug, but it sucks me in, so I’m all for it. Something to note – the legs are not tapered toward the ankles. These are legit straight jeans, which I didn’t love at first, but got used to after a couple wears. They also don’t have any stretch, so you may want to size up. I’m completely obsessed! See me style them here.
T by Alexander Wang long sleeved striped tee (xs) – I’ve had this tee for several years and it’s a classic! I love the linen and classic navy and white combination. It runs fairly big, so I would recommend sizing down. Another dry clean piece (ugh), but I couldn’t resist the white trim. Details like that are the reason I have a million stripe tees in my closet.
