What I Ordered For Baby #2 + What We’ll Be Re-Using From Our First Time Around

The baby content you’ve all been asking for is slowly going to trickle in, lol. I’ve received so many request to share what we’re buying for baby #2 and I’m so excited to bring you this post today! I didn’t include the clothing hauls I’ve ordered from Gap, Zara, and H&M only because I wanted to focus this list on baby essentials (gear, furniture, etc.). We learned a lot about what’s essential, what doesn’t get used, and what we loved the first go around. This has helped SO much with shopping for baby boy. We also kept a lot of the larger pieces – crib, bassinet, lounger, and rocking chair, so it doesn’t feel like we have to order too much.

I’m sharing what we ordered for baby #2 as well as what we’ll be re-using from our time with Harper. Remember, our essentials might not be your family’s essentials. Everyone likes different things and what works for us might not work for you. It’s all about personal preference, baby, and lifestyle.

What I Ordered For Baby #2

Infant Optics Add-On Camera – Did some research and found that our camera system has an add-on camera, so we’re going with it! I wouldn’t say this camera is great, but it does the job and it still works 3+ years later. I’ll keep you posted on how it all comes together.

Mushie Pacifier – We used Ecopacifier with Harper and had not complaints, but since she was born/was an infant, there has been so many other non-toxic, non-plastic pacifiers that have come out. The Mushie Frigg pacifiers seem super popular and they’re so cute. I already have some and they’re lightweight, adorable, and come in so many great neutral colors.

Owlivia Sleepers off white – We stumbled upon these right after having Harper. Being a first-time mom I didn’t realize the convenience of zipper sleepers. I ordered a ton of these off Amazon Prime and they were a game changer. The zipper plus the incredibly soft, organic fabric are everything. They’re also thick, which is perfect for Oregon winters. I ordered a bunch of these in newborn and 3-6 months for baby boy.

Green Sprouts Muslin Bibs white – These were our favorite bibs with Harper, especially when she was small. They’re neutral, cute, and super simple. Definitely ordering more of these for baby boy.

Green Sprout Burp Cloths white- These are fantastic! The curved shaped fits perfectly on your shoulder and they’re a great size. I’m only really ordering these this time around.

Caraa Backpack black – I definitely wanted a new diaper bag this time around. Having some experience and knowing what works for our family and all the stuff we schlep around, bag choice for baby #2 was a no brainer. We’re an always prepared type of family, so I like to have everything in my bag – I can’t just wing a purse like other mom’s, lol. I randomly spotted this Caraa baby backpack and knew it would be perfect. Big enough and elevated – the 2 main must-haves. I haven’t received this backpack yet (it’s on back-order), so I’ll keep you posted on how we like it.

Levo Rocker – We used the Nuna Leaf a lot with Harper, she liked it and we like it. We actually still have it, but I knew we would need an additional rocker like chair. I love the look of the Levo chair, but I also love that it’s non-toxic and will grow with baby.

Sleepea Swaddle graphite starts- We used the SNOO for Harper and it comes with a swaddle that attaches to the inside of the bassinet. Harper got out of every single swaddle, except when she was in the SNOO. After a few months Happiest Baby came out with individual swaddles that were made exactly the same but didn’t have the flaps to attach to the bassinet. We ordered a few and they were a game changer! This time around, I’m only ordering these. They come in an assortment of colors and sizes.

Bugaboo Wheeled Board – Instead of getting a double stroller, we’re going to try this board attachment for our Bugaboo Lynx stroller. Harper is very excited about it… we’ll see. We’re also getting the Veer Cruiser wagon, so that will come in handy when both kids need to sit.

Kyte Baby Sleepers (oat and aloe) – These were highly recommended by you, so I’m excited to try these out. Zipper sleepers and pretty neutral colors.

BabyBjorn Carrier grey beige mesh- We didn’t use our baby carrier a lot when Harper was young (we used it later on), but I know with baby #2 the carrier will be huge for many reasons. Since I’m small, I wanted a carrier that would work on my frame and be comfortable for both baby and I from the start. I’ve heard good things about this one and love the grey/beige color.

Hatch – We got the Hatch about a year ago for Harper and really love it. We’ll get another one for baby boy’s nursery and use it as his sound machine from the beginning.

Ikea dresser white – We used a West Elm dresser for Harper, but the drawers didn’t hold a lot of clothes. We’ve recently switch Harper over to the Ikea Hemnes dresser and we’ll get the same for baby boy. It’s been the best dresser for all of us over the years – it’s such a good size and holds so much.

What We’re Re-Using From The First Time Around

Babyletto Hudson Crib – We’ll be using Harper’s old crib for baby boy. We have not complaints about the crib. Love that we went with a classic style, so it works years later.

Nuna Pipa Car Seat – While I think there’s better car seats out there now, I figure we have this one, so why not use it. It’s in great condition and all strollers have adapters for it. We loved this car seat when Harper used it.

Snoo Bassinet – We used the SNOO Bassinet with Harper and loved it (you can read my review here). I know my review says we wouldn’t use it for baby #2, but since we have it, we’ll use it. We may just end up using it as a regular bassinet for our room – just depends on how baby boy sleeps. I will definitely keep you posted.

Snuggle Me Organic – This is another product we loved with Harper. We used this very early on when naps were not always in the SNOO. I love that this lounger is snug for baby versus the Dock-a-tot, which is large and roomy.

Boppy Nursing Pillow – I used this daily up until I stopped nursing (18 months). My best-friend if you will, lol. We kept ours, but I’ll be switching out the cover to this one.

CB2 Rocking Chair – This is one of our favorite purchases of all time, lol. We were very diligent when purchasing our rocking chair for Harper – we wanted something comfortable, modern, and tall enough for Mike. We love this rocking chair! It’s big enough for a parent and toddler to sit next to each other and it’s comfortable! I do wish they had more colors when we ordered ours (at the time, the charcoal color was the only option) because we would have done something lighter. But yes, we’ll be using this again as it’s held up really well and in great shape.

Stokke Steps High Chair – We got so much use out of this high chair and I’m excited to use it again for baby boy. The modern style, great quality, and neutral color really allows you to use it for more than one kid.

Honest Company Diapers – We loved using Honest diapers. Non-toxic, safe, and no issues with leaks. I love the ordering/delivery service – it makes ordering diapers SO easy. We never had any issues with not having diapers, which is so nice. I know many people love Honest for their diaper prints, but we get the simple white (not a print fan).

Seventh Generation Wipes – We have used these since day 1 and still till this day use them for just about everything. They’re clean and gentle, with no scent – which is great! We’re also able to order in bulk from Amazon, so that’s another plus.

Earth Mama Diaper Balm – This is our favorite diaper balm. Harper never had diaper rash. This smells delightful and it’s clean and non-toxic.
