Happy 2018, friends! Baby Harper is here and we couldn’t be more in love. She arrived early Wednesday morning and everyone is healthy and doing great. We’re home and settling in and getting no sleep, lol. Check out my Instagram and Instagram Stories for photos and at-home videos. We also started a family Instagram account. If you’re interested in following our journey, be sure to follow @crystalinmariefamily. I will do a formal introduction post later this week, so stay tuned.

As we head into the new year, I always like to fill you in on what you can expect on the blog going forward. 2018 is all about change as we embark on the most life altering experience, parenthood. I’ve received a ton of questions on how things will change and how I’m going to work in motherhood and having a baby into the work schedule and blog. I think things will start off slow when she first arrives, but honestly, I’m going to do my best to keep things as normal around here as possible. You’ll see the usual stuff – outfits, sales, life updates, and all things fashion, but I’ll also start incorporating more motherhood and baby content as well. For those of you who don’t have kids or are less interested in that stuff, please feel free to skip those posts (I totally get it).

What You’ve Been Loving

After looking at the analytics and engagement, I’ve noticed you gravitating toward my sale and shopping and outfit roundups, style guides, as well as athleisure and loungewear posts. You will definitely see more of those in 2018, but if there’s anything else I’m not mentioning, leave me a comment below or feel free to email me, [email protected].

What I’m Looking Forward To

As mentioned above, I’m excited to start incorporating more baby and motherhood content on the blog. It’s already been quite the journey with pregnancy alone. What to wear, what not to wear, registry, baby products, nursery, and postpartum essentials. There’s so much to figure out once you become pregnant, especially when you have a Type A personality and need to dig into everything to see what’s right for you and your family. I already feel like I have so much to share. Being in this new role, you’ll also see more family related posts, too. How we’re raising our family plant-based, how the dogs have adjusted, what it’s like owning your own business and working from home with a brand new baby. I’m hoping to share lessons and experiences that go beyond just being a parent. Think more life lessons and what we’ve learned, so that it’s beneficial to all and not just those with families.

You’ll also see how my style evolves in my new role. I’ve always had super casual style, so I don’t think anything will change with that, but it will be interesting to see what pieces work,  function wise, on an everyday basis. Something I haven’t talked a lot about, but am super excited for, getting back into my old clothes. I can’t even tell you how excited I am to be not pregnant just so I can go back to wearing everything in my closet. It honestly feels like everything is new again. I’m 1000% more appreciative of my pre-pregnancy body (I’m like dang, I was small lol). I have a feeling I will be a lot less harsh on myself and this will open me up to more styles I never thought I could pull off.

There’s a couple things we’re super excited about in 2018 that we’re going to keep under wraps until they unfold. Both things are still up in the air, but they will be worth the wait for sure if it all goes as planned. In general though, we’re beyond pumped for 2018 on the business front. We’re excited to keep growing, enter into new verticals, and expand our content. This year will see the biggest change for Crystalin Marie and we couldn’t be more excited. I hope you stick around and join us on this new journey. If you have any content ideas or feedback for us, please share in the comments or shoot me an email. I love hearing from you and really take your feedback seriously. Cheers to 2018 and making it the best year yet!
