Mindful Beauty: Drugstore Edition
For the past 5 months of shelter in place I’ve been really diving deep into clean beauty. I’ve accumulated enough product, I had Mike install a beauty cabinet in my office, lol. I wasn’t ever really into beauty all that much before discovering clean beauty. This is a space that fascinates me, but I also like being the guinea pig if you will – I like to try out products and share my thoughts with all of you. And, from your feedback, many of you are interested in getting into more clean beauty and are really enjoying my reviews and discovery into this space. With all that being said, I’m happy to bring you mindful beauty, drugstore edition today.
I love that more and more retailers are carrying clean beauty – formulas you can feel good about. Walmart has a great selection under their Mindful Beauty section. They have a ton of different brands to choose from and a few exclusive brands to discover. I’m sharing all about the products I recently picked up below.
EcoTools Start The Day Beautifully Kit Makeup Brush Set – I had been on a search for clean beauty makeup brushes and if I’m being honest, there’ not a huge selection on the internet. I’m so glad I found these. You’re getting an angled foundation, blurring, defined crease, angled linear and full blush set. The handles are bamboo and the brushes were made with recycled materials. This is a great set for less than $7.
found Creamy Lip & Cheek Stick with Mango Butter, Hibiscus – I’ve been really into cream blushes lately and I love this one! To be honest, I think all cream blushes should come in a stick like this – it makes it much easier to apply. This color looks very bold, but it’s actually the perfect everyday color. These are also super buildable, too. Love that you’re able to use them on your lips as well!
found Illuminating Highlighter with Rosehip & Lemon Extract – This highlighter is so pretty and gives the perfect glow. It’s buildable, but you can also keep it subtle too.
Physicians Formula Organic Wear Brow Shaping Gel, Clear – This is my favorite product of all of these! I’m a big brow gel girl and this one works great! It’s clear, but it really shapes and holds your brows in place. One of the tips I’ve learned from Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere was putting the brow gel on first and then filling my brows in with a pencil.
Habit Cosmetics Non Toxic Nail Polish, 36 Moon Rock – I love this nail polish! Firstly, they’re non-toxic, but they also have great neutral colors and I love that the brushes are small. This makes it very easy to apply the polish.
