10 Random Facts About Me

Since we’re in the thick of winter and there seems like there’s no warm temps in sight, I thought I would freshen things up with a 10 random facts about me post. I’ve done these on Instagram, but I don’t know if I’ve shared here.

Harper’s 13th Month Update + Schedule

Finally, a Harper update! Gosh, I’m terrible at doing these, but I know you guys appreciate them so much. Instead of trying to cover these updates monthly on the blog, I may try to do them every 2 months. 2 months seems more doable. And, I should also apologize for missing months 8-12. I’m more organized these days, so let’s cross our fingers I can make these a regular thing, lol. Let me just say, Harper is an absolute DREAM. She’s always been an awesome baby, but she’s so fun now, well behaved (for the most part), adorable, and funny. Now that she’s walking, it feels like we’re best friends, which has been so awesome.

Exploring My City With Sperry

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am for warm weather and getting outdoors as a family this year. We’re officially over the baby stage and Harper is full on walking, which means we can do so much more. Mike and I have always been very set in our ways when it came to exploring and getting outdoors, but, now that we have Harper we want to do all the fun kid things and just get out and explore. We’re still very new to Oregon, so I’m super pumped for spring and summer to discover all that this outdoorsy state has to offer.

2019 Spring Wishlist

2019 Spring wishlist

Banana Republic trench, Loewe tote, Anine Bing sunglasses, Rachel Comey wide leg jeans, St. Agni mules, Nike sneakers, Free People dress, Marysia swim top, Marysia swim bottoms, Eugenia Kim visor, Clare Vivier belt bag, Loeffler Randal pumps, Michael Michael Kors sweater, Baublebar necklace, Levi’s jeans

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had an amazing weekend. We spent most of our’s prepping for what was supposed to be snowmageddon. A couple grocery store runs to stock up on food and mentally prepare to stay cooped up for a good 2 weeks. Yeah, we ended up not getting any snow, lol. I feel like that’s very Oregon, tho. The weather is so unpredictable. Anyway, since were in the middle of the coldest days we’ve had yet, I thought I’d share my spring wishlist with you. We’re headed to LA and Palm Springs in March, so spring and warm weather is definitely on my mind. I’m hoping to pick up some bigger ticketed items this year that I know I will get a ton of wear out of and sprinkle in more trendy pieces at affordable price ranges. My pink obsession is still going strong! Stay tuned to see what I ended up getting on this list.

How We Keep our Space Clean with a Baby and Dogs

Crystalin Marie living room

For those of you who follow me on Instagram Stories, you know how clean Mike is. Many of you have asked to clone him for you, lol. After 13 years of knowing him, I can say, his OCD clean tendencies are both a blessing and a curse. Mostly a blessing, but there’s instances like the other day, when he threw away a homemade soup my aunt made me because he was cleaning the kitchen, ugh! I’ve received countless messages asking how we keep our house so clean with a baby and 2 dogs and today I’m spilling our secrets. The truth is, we’re very clean and particular people and sometimes, it’s not the easiest. We laugh about it all the time, but sometimes we say, “we wish we just didn’t care.”

DIY: How to Cut the Hem of Your Jeans

how to cut your jeans for a DIY raw hem

The day has come! I’m finally sharing how I cut the hems off my jeans to shorten all the denim in my closet. I have no idea why it has taken me so long (apologies). Back in the day, I would get my jeans hemmed by my tailor (back when I lived in California). Ever since moving to Oregon I started to hem my jeans myself by cutting off the hems. I never found a tailor here, so I didn’t give myself a choice. It’s actually worked out for the best because I’m saving so much money, it allows me to shop more variety of denim, and I don’t have to spend the time and energy of taking a new pair of jeans to the tailor every week.

20 Cropped Jeans for Regular and Petite Sizes

Happy Monday, friends! I have been living in my Rag & Bone cropped flare jeans ever since the summer, but I’ve only recently been asked about them a ton. Cropped flares were really popular a couple years ago and while I don’t think they’re as trendy as before, there’s still a good amount of you who are looking for a pair. I happen to still really love the style. For me, they’re a little more elevated than your basic skinny jean and more flattering than the straight/mom jean style. The only problem, finding a pair that fits your body is HARD.
