What to Wear to a Business Formal Holiday Party

I’m not going to lie, I had to look up “business formal” before creating and shopping for this post. I have never worked in a business formal environment, so this post is a little out of my comfort zone. But, you guys asked, so here it is! I think I could have easily gotten away with dressing a little more festive, but decided to stay a little more conservative. Plus, I thought the champagne could do all the taking ;)

What to Wear to a Formal Christmas Dinner

In case you’re headed to a formal Christmas dinner or formal holiday dinner in general, this post is for you! I’ve never been to one, so my ideas are based on what I would wear or what I would gravitate toward. If you’re going to a nice dinner for Christmas, but it’s not necessarily formal, I would swap in a pair of nice jeans instead of a skirt or dress, that way you don’t look overdressed.

A Toast to the Holidays

Cavit wine pinot noir 2

This Christmas will be extra special as it’s our first year celebrating as a family of 3 (5 including the dogs) and in our very own home. And to top it off, my family will be joining us as well. While it’s an exciting time, I must say, there’s some pressure to get it all right. I love hosting, but I haven’t had a ton of time this year to have anyone over, really, with a new baby and all. But, it’s the holidays and family will be here, so I feel like it’s the perfect excuse to pull out all the cute dishes, pretty flatware, pop open the wine and enjoy some downtime.

16 No-Fail Holiday Cocktail Dresses

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Mike and I finished up the bulk of our work on Friday, so we kind of took it easy the last few days. It’s been so nice to not be glued to my computer. We also attended a holiday party on Saturday night. We only intended to stay for a little bit since we had Harper with us. She warmed up to everyone fast, waiving at anyone that walked by, lol. At about an hour and half she lost it (she was just way too tired) and we made our way home. In general though, she did a really good job!

To continue with my holiday outfit inspiration, today’s post is all about no-fail holiday cocktail dresses.

16 Gowns for a Black Tie Holiday Party

What to wear to a holiday formal party

Who’s headed to a black tie event this holiday season?! In today’s post I’m sharing 16 gowns perfect for a gala, black tie, or corporate event. When doing my research, I actually found it hard to find a good gown that wasn’t super expensive. There isn’t a ton to choose from, so I hope this post helps anyone out who is on the search. As long as you stick to something floor length and festive, you should be good to go. I would do metallic, velvet, or even sequin for myself. If you’re thinking you want something more classic, you could always opt for black and spice it up with metallic accessories (earrings, shoes, or a bag).

The Perfect Personal Gift

Best personalized necklaces

Personalized gifts are my go-to for the holidays. I love how easy and simple they are to pick out, yet how meaningful and thoughtful they are to give. I found the cutest personalized necklaces from Walmart and bought one for my aunt, one for my cousin, and of course, I had to snag one for myself. The one I picked up is very similar to the one Carrie Bradshaw wears in Sex in the City.

Our Holiday Decor

I’m finally sharing my holiday decor! We’ve had almost everything up for a while, but I didn’t want to share our space until everything I ordered came in. Of course, we kept things very simple, neutral, and cozy. I’m really trying to be mindful when buying Christmas decor. I want the pieces I buy to be timeless and something I will like for years to come. That way, it doesn’t feel like I need 1000 things every year. Other than buying a packet of ornaments on eBay, all ornaments are from the last few years. We’ve also had our mantle garland and stockings for a few years now, too (just bought one for Harper!).
