A couple weeks ago, White House Black Market reached out to see if I wanted to try out some of their petite pieces. As you know, I’m all for brands with petite options, so I happily obliged. I haven’t really shopped at White House Black Market in the past. With that being said, I check their website periodically and have found plenty of really cute pieces. I think I’ve always been hesitant because a. I haven’t ever shopped the brand and didn’t know about sizing, etc. and b. Prices seem high for what it is. I don’t know if I would ever pay full price for anything other than maybe outerwear. Most brands like this, Ann Taylor, Loft, Banana Republic, have sales every week, so they’re a little more appealing… I’m not sure if WHBM does (does anyone else know or shop the brand often)?
Happy Wednesday! Well, this will be the shortest week ever, lol. First of all I want to thank you all for your love and support from Monday’s post (still in the process of getting back to you all). We are so excited and it makes me so happy to know you are as well. The first project we have, paint nearly the whole house, including the baby’s room. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on all our house projects moving forward. To kick this short week off, I thought I’d do a little Instagram roundup of outfits and products that haven’t made it to the blog yet.
Surprise, we’re pregnant! Baby GIRL is due in December and we could not be more excited! I feel like I’ve been keeping the biggest secret from you and it’s been hurting my soul, lol. I’m bad at keeping secrets in general and this one was tough. With that being said, you may have sensed something was up when I was a bit MIA in May (I was so sick, more on that below), all my talk of dog training, and videos of food all over my Instagram Stories. When you share your life on social media, it’s so hard to keep such a big secret like this to yourself.
Happy Friday, friends! Have any fun plans this weekend? We don’t have anything on the calendar, but I’m hoping to maybe go to the pool, catch up on some reading, and do some blog prep for July. Speaking of, can you believe it’s already July? How are we already more than half way through 2017? I also wanted to share some of my favorite Ann Taylor new arrivals, especially since everything is 50% off. There’s so many great summer pieces out right now, including my new favorite sandals (read about them below).
I’ve recently picked up a few items that have become instant staples, so obviously, I had to share them with you. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen or read about a few these already. The good news, nearly everything is super affordable and on sale.
I’ve been working with Everlane the last couple of months and I must say, I’m fully impressed. I’ve known about the brand for a couple years now, but wasn’t sure about sizing, etc., so I never fully embraced them. The last 2 months they’ve gifted me a few items to try out and I’m so glad they did because I’ve truly loved everything. They do simple basics so well. No joke, you can literally build a capsule collection with their pieces (one stop shop). If you haven’t heard about the brand, I encourage you to check them out – especially if you love good classic basics. So far I’ve noticed tops and shorts run TTS (for me it’s xs or 00), but dresses run big. They’ve been killing it with their shoes, too (run TTS). I’m waiting for The Bridge Sandal in natural to arrive and I can’t wait to get my hands on The Day Heel (I’ve heard great things about them!).
Hands down, 4th of July is my favorite holiday to dress for. While I don’t normally wear red, I love little splashes of it for the holiday. It’s also nice, I already have red, white, and blue in my closet, so I can easily throw something together. Today, I’m looking back on some past outfits to help you get dressed for a day of food, friends, family, and fireworks.
Happy Monday, friends! Is it hot enough for you, yet? Not sure if everyone’s going through this massive heat wave (by the looks of Instagram Stories, it seems like many of you are in the same boat), but man, it’s killer. Not only has it been in the 90’s (which always feels 10 degrees hotter in Oregon), but there’s been wind, which feels like you’re suffocating. Thankfully, we spent most of the weekend indoors in the cool AC. We also celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary last Monday. We’re so bad at celebrating special moments/days like this… Mike made dinner reservations at Departure, but I wasn’t feeling well, so we postponed it. Maybe one of these days we’ll go on a trip or something, lol.
Because you can’t kick off the start of summer without creating a bucket list, I’m sharing a few things we’re looking forward to this year. Since we’ve had such a harsh winter, they’re saying this summer might be a scorcher. So, while I have a good list going, we may just end up at the pool everyday or cooped up in the house, AC blasting, watching movies. Can you tell, I’m not a heat person, lol. I’d love to hear what’s on your summer bucket list!
