Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Ours was equal parts productive, fun, and relaxing. Love those kinds of weekends! With that being said, It seems as though my 2nd trimester bliss may be coming to an end (2 more weeks until I’m in my 3rd trimester). Baby D is moving like crazy and it’s been hard to stay asleep at night. The peeing every hour is a nightmare too! I’ve been falling asleep fine, but when I get up to go to the bathroom, I’m struggling to fall back asleep. I’m hoping I can just get used to everything, so I can get back to better sleep… or this is just preparing me for years to come of little sleep, lol.
Mike and I teamed up with Nordstrom to share some summer to fall transitional looks. Fall is just around the corner, so now’s a good time to start thinking about and shopping for pieces that will help transition your wardrobe. This is also that tricky time where stores are switching inventory and you’re thinking about cooler weather, but the temps outside aren’t really feeling it yet. I know for us, I’m ready for fall over here, but we have consecutive weeks of 80-90 degree weather. The best thing to do – shop for pieces that can work now and work later! Nordstrom currently has so many great pieces to help you transition your wardrobe, like this lightweight jacket or these loafers and this tee or this jacket. Read on to find out what our top 3 pieces to buy for him and her to help you transition your wardrobe from summer to fall.
The nursery has been consuming me, so I figured I’d give you an update. I’ve also been finding a ton of awesome baby/kids boutiques that I’m obsessing over, that I need to share with you. I never in a million years thought I would be so into baby things. Man have things changed. I’m more excited to shop/receive packages in the mail for Baby D than I am of my own things. While it may not appear so (baby clothes overload), I am trying to limit myself. I know babies grow out of things really fast and everything gets stained, etc., so I totally get it. Clothes may be my weakness, but I will say, I’m keeping everything else very minimal. I printed out several registry checklists/baby essential lists to make sure I’m getting all the must-haves (as in you couldn’t survive without them), but waiting/passing on some of the extras. We’re sticking to a couple wood toys, 1 doll/stuffed animal, and not overdoing it with blankets and frilly things. We don’t like clutter in this house, so that’s been a big help it not going overboard.
I recently teamed up with Banana Republic to talk about their Sloan Pants just in time for fall. You’ve seen me style them many ways over the last couple of years (here, here, here, here, and here), so I’m excited to fill you in on my favorite black trousers. Hands down, the Sloan style is my favorite black pant of all time.
Happy Monday! How was your weekend? For the most part, ours was pretty mellow. I’m in the process of planning my baby shower (yes, I’m planning it because that’s just who I am), working on the nursery, and finding a new blog template and getting this blog more organized. Doing all that while still working has me all over the place. I don’t know if it’s because I’m pregnant or what, but I feel like I’m scatterbrained. I forgot to go to my hair appointment on Saturday and for no reason other than I forgot (yikes!). The inability to form sentences and remember words is ridiculous, too. I can admit it, I’m a hot mess these days.
I’ve been meaning to do a post/series like this for a while, but I kept forgetting to snap photos of my off-duty OOTD’s. I know how much you love seeing everyday outfits, so I’m making a conscious effort to document them even though it may be a legging and hoodie day. These are outfits I’m either wearing in the office, to run errands, or just running out the door in. Not anything I would think to take actual outfit photos of, but inspiration is inspiration, and maybe your in a rut with everyday outfits and this will inspire some of your off-duty looks. I’m aiming to document these everyday, but I’m just getting in the routine of taking photos everyday, so bare with me. Also, I may end up posting these in a different format, thinking of having them in my new newsletter (stay tuned for that), instead of posting on the blog. We’ll see though… I will keep you posted.
As mentioned several times already, I’m so ready for fall. We’ve actually had really nice weather this week, so I wouldn’t mind a couple more weeks of summer, but I’m just so darn excited for fall and everything that comes with it. I’ve always said fall was my favorite, but the older I get, the more I realize, nothing really compares to fall and the holiday season. It’s such a magical time of year and let’s face it, the fashion is the best! I’m going to do a more detailed post on my fall fashion must-haves in a couple weeks, but today I want to share some of the fall pieces I picked up from Nordstrom as well as what I’m looking forward to wearing once the temps cool down.
Today’s blog post is all about non-maternity, maternity style. I have yet to dive fully into maternity clothes yet, but I have a feeling I’ll be getting there soon. Throughout my pregnancy my goal is to continue wearing everything I possibly can that’s already in my closet. With that being said, I’m already struggling when it comes to jeans/pants, so I’ll need to find some solutions soon. Since I plan on wearing non-maternity clothes for the most part, I hope my pregnancy style will resonate with both women who are pregnant as well as those who aren’t. If I do style a maternity piece, I will also offer a non-maternity option, so you’re able to easily recreate my look no matter where you are in your life.
